The largest steel trading center in China's Jiangxi Province officially opened in Changbei in the city of Nanchang on November 25, as reported by local Chinese media sources. Located on an area covering 40 hectares, the center is expected to have an annual throughput of 500,000 mt with an annual turnover of RMB 4.5 billion ($721 million). A total of RMB 420 million ($67.3 million) was invested in the new steel trading center by Jiangxi-based Metal Materials Co., Wuhan-based Baotong Metal Materials Co. and Jiangsu-based Changnan Materials Co.
